Ran into an old friend, Jim Witt at a wedding. Jim, Morry Gash, Wayne Peternel and I were young photographers working in camera stores in Milwaukee in the early 1980's.

Jim went on to a successful careeer at UPS and has two great boys. Morry is a great photographer and is the Wisconsin Photo Editor for The Associated Press, I keep plugging away as a Freelance Photographer. My friend and old roomate Wayne, I found out Saturday, died at age 42. The same age as his father.

This is a photograph of me at Camp Randall stadium ( UW v. Purdue ). The 300mm lens on my camera was lent to me by Jim, I got the press pass and stayed the night at Morry's apartment while he was away for the weekend in Washington, and the photo was taken by Wayne.

Please save your photographs.

( In Memory of Wayne Peternel this post will remain for one week )

Stadiums

The Cleveland Indians had a home in Miller Park in Milwaukee this week.

Ironically, Milwaukee County Stadium served as their home in the movie "Major League". This photograph is of the last weekday game ever played at Milwaukee County Stadium.

Fine Art part 2

Second post today. Dress in window of Three Graces.

Fine Art

There is a new trend of photographers shooting close ups of urban areas and grafitti etc. and selling them as photographic fine art. I don't know, but if I was a painter I'd be a little disturbed. I just wnet outside, walked around the corner and made this photograph...big deal.

Over 110,000 fans atteneded the Brewers - Cubs series in Milwaukee last weekend...easily half if not more were Cub fans from Chicago. Some Milwaukee fans hate it...not me, it was fun !

How Times Change

This image was made August 19, 2004. Sammy Sosa of the Cubs was one of the top home run hitters until a little thing called steroids came up. The Cubs (sans Sosa) are in Milwaukee this weekend against the Brewers.
